St. George Subways

This is a quick snap shot of a cool hike that we went on in St. George, Utah. I was in Sacramento visiting family and friends. I got a call from Lori inviting me to her family trip to St. George on this amazing hike called "The Subways". I had just met some friends of a friend that seemed to be up for whatever and didn't have much going on. I talked them into a trip to Vegas where we could crash with a friend of mine on the way to the strip where we would part ways and they could go do whatever they want. That was an interesting drive. We made it just in time to intercept Lori and her family and get a ride with them the rest of the way to St. George, UT.
The hike was unique and gorgeous to say the least. ...Bay far the longest hike I had ever done.
We started at about 7am and finished around 5 or 6pm after 9-12 miles of rock and water. At least 5 miles of it was about 1-5 feet of water. I took a short cut towards the end that ended being just a bunch of cuts and nothing more. After I found myself trapped at the top of a ledge I realized they only way back to the trail was through an entire hill of dried thorny bushes. No problem, I will just spin my way down as fast as I can with no regard to the language coming out of my mouth.
The important part was we all made it and Lori and I are now happily married partly due to this experience.
